Concussions and Football!

Brett Favre & other athletes have suffered concussions with Football

Brett Favre was born on October 10th, 1969 in Gulf port, Mississippi and was later raised in the small town of Klin, Mississippi. As the starting quarterback for the Hancock North Central High School’s football team and with his father, Irwin Favre, as head coach, Favre caught the attention of the University of Southern Mississippi’s coaches, who gave him a

scholarship. Despite the Southern Miss coaches’ insistence that he play a different position, Favre stuck with quarterback and won the starting job in just the fourth game of his freshman year.

Brett Favre went on record this past week talking about how concussions has affected his life. He went on to say that “I realized that there was a problem when I could not remember my daughters soccer game this past week.” He didn’t realize how bad that all the concussions that he had through out his career had finally caught up
to him and is going to effect him the rest of his life. He also said that how bad some of the other players had their lives affected so bad that they can’t even work or hold down a job after being super athletes all their life and got paid so well but now can’t even afford to put a good meal on the table. They can’t function as normal people do after giving so much to football! They have sacrificed everything to live like supper stares for several years but then can’t even live a normal life!

What is concussions and what it does to the brain?

Brain injuries often have a wide array of both physical and psychological effects. Additionally many TBI and Alzheimer’s symptoms have a delayed onset, which makes diagnosis significantly more difficult. Mild brain injuries, or picture of cuncussionconcussions, may include dizziness, sleep disturbances, headaches, and a loss of consciousness for a few seconds. Moderate to severe traumatic brain injuries include many of the same symptoms of less severe injuries, but usually more dramatic symptoms such as slurred speech, repeated vomiting, loss of bladder control and seizures are present.

Brain disease is worrisome regardless of how you contract it.Alzheimer’s  is a scary thing that I worry about. My mother died from it. So did her two aunts. Her mother, my grandmother, had Parkinson’s disease, a relative of Alzheimer’s. This is why I make sure I keep a daily dose of coconut oil going into my body right along with my other supplements. After three years of taking this signaling supplement, I’m feeling the effects of better and clearer thinking along with renewed energy.

What is in the future for Football and Concussions?

The NFL and Collage football are starting to take steps to make it safer for the game for the future. The way practice and games are conducted can have a great affect on preventing concussion football injuries among athletes. Using proper techniques and teaching athletes to play with their heads up while promoting proper equipment and gear is imperative to keeping athletes safe from serious concussion injuries. Policies, rules among leagues and support from school officials are also important in order to keep student-athletes safe.

Brain disease is worrisome regardless of how you contract it. My personal experience is with Alzheimer’s disease. My mother died from it. So did her two aunts. Her mother, my grandmother, had Parkinson’s disease, a relative of Alzheimer’s. This is why I make sure I keep a daily dose of redox signaling molecules going into my body right along with my other supplements. After three years of taking this signaling supplement, I can attest that for my 69 years, I’m feeling the effects of better and clearer thinking along with renewed energy.
